Quick update on our growing girl

Emily saw the nutritionist yesterday, so here are the latest facts and figures:

Weight: 26 lbs. 10 oz
Height: 33 3/4 inches

She gained 13 ounces this month and did not grow at all. The nutritionist did recommend one change to her feeding schedule: She will get 2 less ounces each day. We will take this amount out of her night time feed through her pump. The trick with Emily is to keep her weight and height pretty balanced. Since she does not move much, so she does not have the opportunity to burn off calories. We don't want her putting on too much weight without the growth to go with it. We are thankful to have a nutritionist that is keeping on top of this on a monthly basis. Hopefully this change will keep her from running into any issues with her weight.

We also met a new respite care nurse yesterday. We had found a nurse that we liked a couple of months ago. She came to watch Emily when I went to the CP Conference in Cincinnati. She has been assigned to another case full time, so she doesn't have the hours to work with us anymore. Bummer. The one we met yesterday seemed nice. She will be coming this afternoon so Mike can get out of the house and get some things done. So, hopefully things will work out better with this nurse.

Emily did have her PT evaluation at Green Hill on Tuesday. It went pretty well. They did not tell us anything that we hadn't heard before. She will start aqua therapy next Tuesday. I am so excited! I think she will really benefit from aqua therapy. I just hope she likes being in the water and doesn't freak out. We shall see.

Whatever you do, keep on doing it. Our Ricky is atrophied really bad in his legs from when he was with his real mother( I got him when he was 7) She never did therapy.

Dawn, lovely to have found you and the beautiful Emily! Hydro therapy sounds great, sometimes takes a little time to get use to it though! Cooper would also stiffen up but the water is so warm he soon relaxes!
enjoy and hope the respite works out positively for all.
