Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

Many of our friends here in KY ask what the weather is like in RI where we are from. Many of our family and friends back in RI ask what the difference is in KY. Well, today is not the usual case, but it is a good example of how different it can be.

Here today, the sun is shining and the temperature is a balmy 68 degrees.

In RI today, the current temperature is 28 degrees and they are supposed to get from 6-10 inches of snow.

I am not a big fan of the cold, but I love the snow. I have not gone sledding since we moved to KY and it was one of the things that Dawn and I would do whenever we had the chance. We were blessed before we left for KY 5 years ago by a storm which gave us 18 inches of snow. We traveled via my front wheel drive Ford Escort to a nearby golf course which had a large hill. We were one of the first people there, so we had to blaze the trail, which wasn't easy, but it was fun none the less.

We here in KY hope you enjoy your white Christmas, we'll enjoy our 68 degrees while it lasts...which is only for today!

We are enjoying our nearly foot of snow with more falling as I type. Joel and the kids have "worked" outside all morning. The boys are in Snow Shovel Training School. = ) They are currently working on a sledding ramp in the backyard. Some how it involves transporting snow in the wheel barrow. Meanwhile Ellie has abandoned the fun for the warmth of the house. Smart girl.
